Leslie Gutierrez is a true success story of the Lone Star College-CyFair nursing program. Leslie began her journey in her education at Baylor College of Medicine with aspirations to become a doctor. When an unexpected turn of events in her life occurred, she had to reconsider her journey and leave Baylor to return to her hometown of Houston. This changed her educational path, but it did not end her desire to be a part of the medical profession.
At LSC-CyFair, Leslie successfully completed her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and became a nurse but her educational and career pursuits did not end there. She decided to give back to LSC-CyFair as a full-time lab coordinator, a simulation specialist, and as a Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program adjunct faculty member, all within the nursing program.
Leslie contributes knowledge she gained through her education, as well as the knowledge she continually gains from her on-the-job experiences. Serving as a role model for nursing students at
LSC-CyFair, she shares what a nurse can achieve with the lifelong educational pursuits in the nursing field.
Leslie has completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Texas at Arlington, and was accepted to the Adult Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner program at Texas Woman’s University.
