As the baby boomer generation ages, the demand for trained health care workers will continue to put a strain on the health care industry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">The good news is that Lone Star College offers a wide range of health care programs to help meet this growing demand. From nursing programs, to occupational\/physical therapy, medical assisting and health information technology, there is sure to be a program right for you. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Salaries for these occupations range from $24,000 to $71,000 per year, but its more than just about how much you can make. You meet new friends who are in the same\u00a0situation you\u2019re in and makes learning much more enjoyable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">\u00a0In the fall, the program is a yoga inspired class and in the spring, it is a pilates inspired class.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">\u201cThe course of study for a physical therapist assistant is a two-year program, leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree,\u201d said Renee Pruitt, LSC-Montgomery Physical Therapist Assistant program director. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">\u201cSuccessful completion of the program satisfies the academic requirement for applying for the state licensure as a PTA and satisfies the requirement for graduates to take the NPTE, the national licensing exam.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans Bold';\">Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/LoneStar.edu\/Health\">LoneStar.edu\/Health<\/a> for all the great opportunities you have to be a part of this growing industry.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Keeping Houston Healthy The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports health care occupations will have the highest projected growth in employment into the next decade.
