You know that Lone Star College offers high-quality workforce certifications and two-year academic transfer degrees, but did you know you can also earn a Nursing; Cybersecurity; or Energy, Manufacturing and Trades Management bachelor’s degree at LSC?

“A bachelor’s degree from Lone Star College is just as prestigious as one from a typical four-year university,” said James Gustavus, LSC BAT Cybersecurity student. “In my opinion, LSC does an even better job of preparing candidates to be ready to do the job after college.”

LSC has been providing workforce training for years, so it only makes sense that its bachelor’s degree programs are first class. LSC bachelor’s degree students are trained in local facilities using the latest technology to ensure they are ready to enter the workforce.

In addition, your tuition does not change in order to earn an LSC bachelor’s degree. That means you pay the same low, affordable rates as two-year students, saving you thousands of dollars each semester. Plus, LSC bachelor’s degree programs provide smaller class sizes leading to more interaction with professors and increased learning opportunities.

LSC bachelor’s degree students also take advantage of flexible learning options, perfect for “non-traditional” students who are returning as older adults, or those who are already employed, but looking for a better career.

“I have had a passion to complete my bachelor’s degree since I got my associate degree,” said Gustavus. “For various reasons, it was not feasible until now. Lone Star College having a bachelor’s degree program really made it possible.”

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that people with a bachelor’s degree earn $19,000 a year more than those with an associate degree and are also less likely to be unemployed.

LSC will offer a fourth bachelor’s degree, Emergency Management, in the fall to help address the growing need for this service. Emergency management directors prepare plans and procedures for responding to natural disasters or other emergencies. They also help lead the response during and after crisis situations.

“Building on the success of our three current bachelor’s degree programs, Lone Star College is ready to provide even more bachelor’s degrees for high-demand careers,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “This is a wonderful opportunity for Lone Star College students who want to continue their education close to home and at an affordable tuition.”
